Bulls & Wagons promises lots of great action Dan Singleton, Sundre Round Up
![]() Rounding the barrels - A wagon roars through the Sundre Rodeo Grounds infield during last year’s Bulls & Wagons.
This weekend’s 6th annual Bulls & Wagons promises lots of fast and furious action for competitors and spectators alike, say organizers.
“We expect some great competition again this year,” says co-organizer Marjorie Nicol. “We’ll have some of the best competitors from across Canada and the U.S.”
Pony chariot races, chuckwagon races, and bull riding all take place at the Sundre rodeo grounds on Friday starting at 6 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
The athletes and stock are being supplied by Main Event out of Bowden, she said.
The local ranch rodeo will be held at the grounds starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
For the first time this year, mounted shooters will put on a show at the rodeo grounds on Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
As well, there will be a pancake breakfast at the museum on Saturday at 8 a.m. The Bulls & Wagons golf tournament at Coyote Creek is on Friday.
There will be dances in the beer gardens on the grounds Friday and Saturday following the main events. Rooster In A Henhouse will be the band both nights.
